Hello Hauteness

I am very excited to be attending the first ever Texas Style Council Conference next weekend, March 11th-13th, here in Austin!  Indiana from Adored Austin and Grechen from NewtoATX put their brilliant blogger minds together and decided to create the Texas Style Council to connect Texas fashion bloggers, as well as educate us on how to make  our blogs better.

While I won’t be able to attend the Friday and Saturday activities (my favorite New York boyfriend will be in town), I will definitely be at the symposium on Sunday to soak up the educational info like a sponge.  I only started Hello Hauteness back in June and still have a lot I want to do with it so I’m looking forward to listening to speakers such as Jenine Jacob of The Coveted and Kendi Skeen of Kendi Everyday tell me how they built their successful blogs.

Thanks to Indiana and Grechen for organizing the conference!  I look forward to mingling with all of the wonderfully talented bloggers who will be there.

One of the many inspirations I had for starting this blog was other bloggers.  Blogging has become the simplest form of journalism.  People sharing their thoughts, stories and ideas via the written word and putting it out there for all to see, read and respond to.  As part of my journey into online journalism I would like to spotlight other bloggers who I admire and follow.

First up to bat is Adored Austin.  The adorable Indiana Adams, actress, writer and soon-to-be mommy, started this Austin fashion and style blog in the summer of 2009.  Since then she has skyrocketed into the local fashion scene with her coverage of local designers, boutiques, and events.  Indiana’s down-to-earth approach to fashion and style is something I admire and am inspired by.  So often fashion is seen as a pretentious subject and I hate this.  The first thing that drew me to Adored Austin is Mrs. Adams ability to keep fashion fun, light-hearted, and open to all.

I had the pleasure of meeting Indiana at a fashion blogger boutique crawl she hosted during SXSW in Austin last March. At the time, Hello Hauteness was just a glimmer in my eye and I was just beginning to discover what the Austin fashion scene had to offer.  Indiana greeted me with such warmth and modesty that it truly put me at ease.  As a girl that simply loves fashion, colors, design, and art, it was wonderful to meet someone who feels the same way and wants to see others express themselves via the wonderful world of blogging.
