Show and Tell
Here and there I will share an article with you that is so fun or interesting that I couldn’t help but post it. My first such article is a New York Times Style Magazine interview with Patricia Field, costume designer for Sex and the City. I know, I know. I’ve already had one SATC post this week and adding a second one is a bit obsessive. BUT…I have to enjoy the media coverage of the movie while I can. Afterall, this is the last hurrah for Carrie, Miranda, Samantha, and Charlotte.
Patricia Field, while very out there and sometimes a bit over the top with her choices for the ladies of SATC, has spawned many fashion trends via the show and movies. The nameplate necklace, the oversized flower pin, the visible bra look, and faux fur coats all found their way into (or back into) mainstream fashion thanks to her. Not to mention the woman should receive free Manolo’s for the rest of her life for the spotlight she cast on the brand. She made it seem totally normal to drop $500 on a pair of shoes via Carrie Bradshaw’s Manolo collection.
And guess what?! YOU can strut your stuff in an outfit straight from Sex and the City 2 via a special shop on Patricia’s website. I’m serious. Go here and check it out. I nearly peed in my panties when I saw this!!!
P.S. I heart that she brought in so much Halston in the second movie. I have LOVED Halston since Randolph Duke was head designer in the late 90’s. Swoon!
